Dear EYM customers,

I regret to inform you that due to our inability to find an adequate growing facility for our microgreens, we have had to stop our local production in Amstelveen. Our previous plan to move to another space nearby did not go through last week and as a result have had to pause. We originally had knew location on the same street but unfortunately, the rental company did not take our needs into consideration and left us speechless after being bullied around.

We are, of course, saddened that we are unable to continue supplying you with super healthy and delicious microgreens at this moment but we look forward to securing a long-term growing solution in the near future. All in all, we hope that you have come to appreciate the value that Eat Your Microgreens (EYM) brings to the community.

Our location at Lola Kronenburg served as the second production location with the added bonus of being able to directly sell to customers and invite other interested people to see how we produce and learn together. Unfortunately, our stay was only for a half-year but it gave us hope together with other entrepreneurs in the building to continue to search for a new location. We were fortunate with this location, due to the closeness to our key customers, my place of residence, farmer’s market all with an average radius of 2 km. As we do not have any retailers selling our product at the moment, this was the best exposure and direct sales that EYM has had.

So far, it has been a year since I started EYM. In 2020 with the COVID 19 shut down of the hospitatlity industry, I conducted endless trials and tests of various seeds. In 2021, we started bringing it direct to the community with our first Organic Farmer’s Market at the Stadshart of Amstelveen. Then our first Farmer’s Market in busy area of De Pijp in Amsterdam. And then supplying to some of the best restaurants in Amstelveen/Amsterdam, including Aan De Poel, Gusto di Casto, and Kronenburg Restaurant.

We are very happy and proud of ourselves to have made such a great impression and connection with our customers, who include: chefs, nutritionists, mothers, and plenty of amazing caring people.

We have come to realize what an important impact a local food source can make on a community.  Although we have yet to break even thus far, we have come to appreciate the value that a nutritious and sustainable food source can bring to our community. This is the main reason why we plan to continue advancing a local and sustainable food system.
